June 30, 2023 Update:

The Class_Determination_CD-2023-06 issued during the shortage of recycled paper will expire on 7/1 and will NOT be extended by the federal government.

The requirement for the federal government to purchase paper products with at least 30% recycled content remains in place effective 7/1.

A Message to our Government Customers:

We want to share urgent information with you regarding current challenges within the paper industry. A recent, devastating fire at a paper mill that supplies recycled fiber to paper manufacturers has resulted in an industry-wide shortage of recycled copy paper. Leading paper mills that produce post-consumer waste recycled paper products have issued “Force Majeure” notices, informing the market that they are working on a solution, but cannot supply stock at this time. 

Existing inventory is being quickly depleted and many recycled paper products may no longer be available for ordering. In efforts to assist federal buyers and contractors through this unexpected situation, GSA has issued a class exemption for recycled content paper and other paper-based products which are included in the EPA's Comprehensive Procurement Guideline (CPG) with minimum recovered material requirements. GSA's "Class Determination CD-2023-06" document can be viewed here.

This Class Determination has allowed for us to offer non-recycled virgin paper products on our GSA FSSI OS4 contract # 47QSEA19D00B9.

Note: As recycled content paper is depleted, GSA Global Supply customers will also be supplied with virgin paper as a substitute until further notice.

During this time, we can supply non-recycled products to fulfill your paper needs. If you purchased our top-selling 30% recycled paper product, item # CAS054901 (NSN 7530013352623), we now recommend item # CASOX9001.
